Ben joined Biovault in 2015 as Quality Manager and became General Manager in 2022. Prior to this Ben studied at the University of Plymouth, before working as a Quality Manager and Microbiology Manager in a Cornwall based laboratory.

Ben leads our experienced team as the HTA Designated Individual and JACIE Quality Manager in working towards the highest industrial standards. Ben is committed to ensuring the continued growth of Biovault as a leader in its field who continue to set benchmarks in cell therapies and cryogenics.

A keen outdoor enthusiast and qualified Commercial Diver, Ben spends much of his life outdoors with his two children enjoying all the beaches and moorland the Southwest has to offer.


Mike Bardetti-nixon,
technical manager

Mike joined Biovault in 2014, having moved to Devon to study Biomedical Science at the University of Plymouth, specialising in Transfusion, Transplantation and Microbiology.

A member of the Institute of Biomedical Science, Mike has supported Biovault in various roles, from Lab Technician to Technical Manager, in addition to his regulatory responsibilities as HTA Persons Designated and JACIE Processing Facility Director. Within these roles, Mike and the team work closely with NHS hospitals to offer support including cleanroom facilitates, cryogenic freezing and storage, and various quantitative assays. Mike has also worked closely with universities such as UCL as a Company Supervisor for Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.

Life isn’t all cells and cryogenics. Mike has a passion for performance vehicles, and drives all over the country and continent for car club shows raising money for charity.
